The 100 best films of the decade (so far) (A.V. Club)

frances-haA.V. Club lists their top 100 best films so far now that we are (shudder) at the halfway mark in another decade. As usual, I agree with a very small percentage of this list. Very few films from people of color and LGBT filmmakers and themes. Of the hundred, the following Reel Charlie considers outstanding,

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
The Skin I Live In
Exit Through the Gift Shop
The Cabin in the Woods
Beginners
Stranger by the Lake
Amour
12 Years a Slave
Melancholia
Winter’s Bone
Boyhood
Frances Ha

Click on the link’s above to be taken to Reel Charlie reviews for each film. Next up I’ll create a list of the best LGBT films I’ve seen that were released in the past five years. Daunting, but I’m up to the challenge since the weekend is ahead of me.

Read A.V. Club’s complete list.
Hat tip to Indiewire.
