All Over the Guy

all over the guyAll Over the Guy is the best example of a classic Rom-Com infused with a gay male plot. Writer Dan Bucatinsky (Scandal) crafts the perfect push-pull story of two guys who get set up on a blind date by their straight best friends. Attraction blossoms, but the roadblocks of their personal baggage get in the way of anything going further. In other words, they both need to get the hell out of their own way in order to let love in. Sweet, simple, funny, perfectly crafted by director Julie Davis. All Over the Guy is the perfect blend of indie and Hollywood with some heavy hitters including Doris Roberts, Christina Ricci, and Lisa Kudrow. Stars Dan Bucatinsky and Richard Ruccolo make the perfect couple stumbling their way into love. Wish there were more films made like 2001’s All Over the Guy. Uncomplicated, easy-to-digest, well-executed, and funny. 4 out 5 for this rare gem.
