Mozart in the Jungle: S2

mozart in the jungle s2I gave season 1 of Mozart in the Jungle a 3.5 out of 5. Watching season 2 I found myself warming up to this delightful comedy about a young charismatic Mexican conductor and the New York Symphony. This season the team headed to South America where we discovered more about Rodrigo’s roots. Gael Garcia Bernal shines in a role that seems tailor-made for his talent. Other highlights of the stellar season include Hailey’s coming into her own as a woman and a musician, Cynthia exploring her bi side with a lawyer, Lizzie managing Bradford’s life, Thomas continuing to search for meaning after his retirement, and Gloria being luminous and sexy as only Bernadette Peters can. I’ve really come to love this heart-warming, zany series full of some of the most beautiful music in episodic television. 4 out of 5 for Mozart in Jungle‘s sophomore effort.
