Sense8: A Christmas Special

The Wachowskis are back with a very special Christmas episode of Sense8, the global empath thriller. I gave Season 1 a 3.5 out of 5. Since watching the show for the first time, I keep thinking about Sense8 and in particular a few of the characters – ok to be specific: Nomi and Amanita. It’s certainly not a perfect show. There are awkward moments, uneven character development. But through it all, through all the silly action scenes, there is a sense of world connection. That we as citizens on this planet must do more to connect with each other. Ultimately that is the only way humans will achieve their full potential and survive. The planet will survive. But will we? Sense8 doesn’t always ask the right questions, but it’s dorky fun entertains and the broader message shines bright. 4 out of 5 for this show that always lingers in the back of my mind.
