I Confess (Blu-ray)

Hitchcock’s 1953 I Confess might be one of the legend’s second tier films but I love it for many reasons. First there’s Montgomery Clift in a cassock. Then there’s the beauty of Quebec City. Did I mention Montgomery Clift is in a cassock? Oh and there’s a great scene in front of the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, a beautiful hotel my parents stayed at during their 25th wedding anniversary. And of course there’s always Montgomery Clift in a cassock. I just realized that is probably a really un-pc thing to say given the church’s sex abuse scandal. But I have found my entire adult life it is lots of fun to turn men into sexual objects of play. So watch I Confess and drink in the beauty of Montgomery Clift. It’s a silly courtroom drama but the scenery is first class. 3.5 out of 5.
