Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat

Sticking to the food theme this week, former Chez Panisse chef, Samin Nosrat travels the globe in search of common elements in preparing food and comes up with Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. Based on her book, Nosrat’s four-part documentary series takes us to Italy, Japan, Mexico, and Berkeley, California. I loved this show so much. Filled with fascinating peeks into other cultures through food, and hosted by an Iranian-American, Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat becomes the gentle, loving antithesis of the angry immigration movement without ever preaching politics. The mere idea that people from all over the world can bond over food becomes a battle cry for a kinder, more delicious world. Every episode captivated me. Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat conjures up the perfect antidote for our stressed out lives. 5 out of 5.
